Injuries Reported in US-36 Minivan Collision

A serious crash involving a minivan and a semi-truck occurred on Thursday afternoon on US-36 Highway, approximately one mile west of Hiawatha, Brown County.

The incident, reported at 12:38 PM, involved a 30-year-old woman from Excelsior Springs, Missouri, driving a 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan. The minivan veered left of center, colliding with a westbound 2006 Peterbilt semi-truck driven by a 40-year-old man from Blaine.

The driver of the minivan sustained serious injuries and was transported to the University of Kansas Hospital. The KHP reports the driver of the minivan wasn’t wearing a seatbelt. The semi-truck driver was unharmed and was reported to be wearing a seat belt.
