WILSON COUNTY, Kan. — Authorities have canceled an endangered persons advisory for a Wichita teenager after she was located safe.
The Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) announced that 17-year-old Alexandra R. Smith has been found safe. Officials did not release details about where she was located.
The advisory had been issued after Smith’s whereabouts became unknown, prompting authorities to seek help from the public.
According to the KBI, Smith originally went missing from Wichita on July 6, 2025, when she was 16 years old. She was later reported to have been seen Sunday, March 8, at a residence in Wilson County.
Investigators said Smith had been a witness in a homicide case and expressed concern for her safety at the time the advisory was issued.
Smith was described as a white female about 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighing approximately 105 pounds, with black hair and blue eyes. Authorities had also indicated she might have been in the Fredonia or Neodesha areas.
Officials thanked the public for its assistance and attention while the advisory was active.
