During their Monday night meeting, the Marysville school board made significant changes for the upcoming school year. Janine Doebele, who currently serves as the assistant principal and instructional coach at Marysville Elementary School, will be taking on the role of principal at MES. This change comes as Jason Wheeler, the current principal, will be transitioning to the position of assistant principal and activities director.
The board unanimously approved Doebele’s move, showcasing their confidence in her ability to lead MES. Wheeler’s transition to the new position was approved with a 5-1 vote. Meanwhile, Cole Fredrickson will continue in his current roles as assistant principal and activities director at Marysville Junior-Senior High School.
Superintendent Darren Schroeder emphasized the district’s dedication to enhancing its administrative team to provide better support for students and the community. In addition to the position changes, the board also accepted resignations and approved new hires, such as Michael Downard as a special education teacher and Megan Luebbe as a paraprofessional.
