Jazz Concert Set For April 10 In Marysville

Janet Robinson Tyler will return to Marysville for a jazz concert at 7 p.m. Friday, April 10, at the Lee Dam Center for Fine Art, 201 South Ninth St.

Tyler, who grew up in Marysville, has spent decades performing, teaching and working in music. Her background includes vocal jazz, piano and choral work, and she continues to perform and teach following a long career in Las Vegas. Her return brings her back to the community where her interest in music first took shape.

The quartet is led by Nate McClendon, a saxophonist, educator and performer with experience across jazz performance and music education. McClendon has worked with a range of ensembles and musicians and is known for both his playing and his work developing music programs and students.

Members of the quartet include Nate McClendon on saxophone, Wayne Goins on guitar, Michael T. Brown on bass and Robert Rodriguez on drums.

The April 10 performance will feature a mix of jazz styles, with Tyler as the featured vocalist alongside the quartet.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Seating is limited, and reservations are available in advance. A freewill donation will be accepted.

Tea, water and coffee will be provided. Attendees may also bring their own beverages.

The concert is sponsored by the Marshall County Arts Cooperative.
