Pink Friday: Shop Small First

Marysville goes local-first with Pink Friday: Shop Small First, a community shopping event that features in-store specials and prize drawings tied to same-day local receipts. The event runs Friday, November 21, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Pink Friday is the counterpoint to Black Friday—one week earlier and built to launch the holidays with local first. The aim is straightforward: shop Marysville, keep dollars circulating here and give local businesses a strong start to the season. Purchases made on November 21 count toward drawings for three hams, three turkeys and five $100 Chamber Bucks.

Several stores will run specials throughout the afternoon. At Holiday Gifts & More—in the former Nordhus Motor building at 1301 Broadway—customers may enter to win Chamber Bucks with drawings at 3 p.m. ($10), 4 p.m. ($20) and 5 p.m. ($30); winners must be present.

To participate: shop Marysville businesses, then present same-day local receipts on the west side of the Korner Bistro & Diner (723 Broadway) for registration with event volunteers. Each receipt is converted into one entry. Receipts are accepted from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., and prize drawings begin at 6 p.m. at the Korner Bistro & Diner; winners must be present.

Complimentary coffee, hot chocolate and sweets will be served during the drawings.

More information and participating locations are available at onemarysville.com.
