Important Road Closure: K-148 Detour Routes Starting April 27

Beginning on Monday, April 27, the Kansas Department of Transportation will close a portion of K-148 in Washington County to replace two drainage tubes beneath the roadway.

K-148 is scheduled to close for two days, weather permitting, beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, April 27 until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28.

During construction, K-148 will be closed to through traffic from U.S. 36 to Nebraska State Highway 8. Motorists will be directed to follow the state detour route on U.S. 36, U.S. 77 and Nebraska State Highway 8.

KDOT uses state highways for official detour routes for safety, weight and maintenance concerns. Motorists may find an appropriate alternative route.
