Marysville has secured a $1.5 million Community Development Block Grant to advance the Blue River Rail Trail Corridor project, aiming to convert a former railroad site into a vibrant public space. Marysville's tradition of the black squirrel began in 1969 when businessman Bill Strange proposed it after visiting Olney, Illinois.
