Six Twin Valley League Teams Head to KSHSAA State Volleyball Tournaments

An impressive six teams from the Twin Valley League (TVL) are set to compete in this week’s KSHSAA State Volleyball Tournaments across three classes, with local radio coverage planned for multiple schools.

1A Division II Tournament (Emporia)

The 1A Division II bracket, hosted in Emporia, features three TVL teams. Linn enters as the third seed, Hanover is the number five seed, and Axtell is the eight seed.

  • Pool A play begins Friday at 10 a.m. and includes Hanover and Axtell, along with top seed Marais des Cygnes Valley and four seed Victoria.
  • Pool B also starts Friday at 10 a.m. with Linn, second seed Ingalls, six seed Dighton, and seven seed Bucklin.
  • KNDY (FM 95.5) will provide live coverage of the Hanover and Axtell matches.

1A Division I Tournament (Dodge City)

In the 1A Division I tournament in Dodge City, Centralia is the four seed and Frankfort is the number eight seed.

  • Pool play for this division begins Thursday at 10 a.m., pitting Centralia and Frankfort against top seed Little River and five seed Goessel.
  • KNDY (FM 95.5) will also air the Frankfort matches live.

2A Tournament (Dodge City)

The Valley Heights Lady Mustangs are the TVL’s representative in the 2A tournament, entering as the sixth seed.

  • Their pool play starts Friday at 10 a.m., where they will face second seed Jeff County North, third seed Oakley, and seven seed Conway Springs.
  • KNDY (AM 1570 / FM 94.1) is scheduled to air the Valley Heights matches live.

Tournament Progression

Pool play winners in both 1A divisions will advance to the Saturday semifinals at 9 a.m., followed by consolation and championship rounds. The 2A pool play winners advance to Saturday semifinals at 1 p.m., with the consolation and championship games to follow.
