The high school football season enters its pivotal stage as the KSHSAA playoffs commence this week with Week 9 pairings setting the stage for regional advancement. Several area teams are hitting the gridiron in what are now win-or-go-home contests.

Eight-Man Division II (8-Man DII)

The 8-Man DII bracket features several matchups involving local powerhouses:

  • Frankfort travels to play Thunder Ridge.
  • Axtell will host St. Johns Tipton.
  • Hanover is set to host Osborne.
  • Linn will play at home against Wakefield.

Other Playoff Brackets

The action extends across multiple classes:

  • Eight-Man Division I (8-Man DI) sees Washington County on the road to face Ell-Saline.
  • Class 1A has Centralia hosting a home game against Onaga, while Valley Heights will travel west to play TMP (Thomas More Prep-Marian) in Hays.

3A Matchup and Live Coverage

In Class 3A, Marysville is scheduled to host Nickerson. This game will take place Friday at 6 p.m. and will be broadcast live on KNDY AM 1570/FM 94.1. Marysville will play a non-playoff game.

All games are scheduled for either Thursday or Friday night, with the victors advancing to the regional round of the state playoffs.
