Six teams from the Twin Valley League will compete in the KSHSAA State Volleyball Tournaments this week. The 1A Division II features Linn, Hanover, and Axtell, while Centralia and Frankfort represent the 1A Division I. Valley Heights is the sole TVL team in the 2A tournament. Live coverage will be provided for select matches.

The Hanover High School Wildcats football team's Homecoming celebration has been moved from October 3rd to September 19th to accommodate a shortened school week. This change ensures students can participate in a full week of activities leading up to the game against the Washington County Tigers on the new date.

The Hanover Wildcats claimed the 1A DII Girls High School Basketball State Championship, defeating the Linn Bulldogs 46-35 on March 15, 2025. Anna Jueneman excelled with 24 points and 7 steals, while Hanover's strong free-throw performance and defense were pivotal in securing their victory over the Bulldogs, who struggled with turnovers.

In a tense 1A Division II quarterfinal, the Hanover Wildcats emerged victorious over the Lebo Wolves, 37-34. Key players included Anna Jueneman with 10 points and 7 rebounds. Hanover's strong defense and scoring inside the paint were pivotal. They advance to face the Linn Bulldogs in the state championship on Saturday.

Elyria Christian Eagles triumphed 62-57 over the Hanover Wildcats in the first round of the 2025 1A Division II State Basketball Tournament. Ty Romero starred with 36 points, while the Eagles secured the win with strong second-half shooting and a dominant bench. Hanover's season ends despite a valiant effort from Braylon Meyn.

The Hanover Wildcats defeated the Sharon Springs Wallace County Wildcats 64-49, advancing to the 1A Division II State Quarterfinals. Anna Jueneman led Hanover with 21 points and 6 steals. Despite Jersi Benisch's 27 points, Wallace County struggled with turnovers and shooting, ultimately falling short against Hanover's defense and balanced offense.

Hanover's coach, Chris Beikmann, warned his team not to get complacent despite a strong start in the 1A Division II championship game against Lebo. Indeed, Lebo fought back to take the lead, but Hanover ultimately finished strong, securing their second consecutive state title with a 50-35 victory. Jueneman led with 24 points.

FM 95.5 will cover Valley Heights, Hanover, Frankfort girls, and Axtell boys. Valley Heights girls face Wichita County, Axtell boys play Beloit St. John’s/Tipton. Hanover girls take on Bucklin, and Frankfort girls compete against St. John Hudson, with ongoing live coverage of the games on FM 95.5.
