Six Twin Valley League Teams Head to KSHSAA State Volleyball Tournaments

Six teams from the Twin Valley League will compete in the KSHSAA State Volleyball Tournaments this week. The 1A Division II features Linn, Hanover, and Axtell, while Centralia and Frankfort represent the 1A Division I. Valley Heights is the sole TVL team in the 2A tournament. The Hanover Wildcats defeated the Sharon Springs Wallace County Wildcats 64-49, advancing to the 1A Division II State Quarterfinals. Anna Jueneman led Hanover with 21 points and 6 steals. Despite Jersi Benisch's 27 points, Wallace County struggled with turnovers and shooting, ultimately falling short against Hanover's defense and balanced offense.

Hanover powers past Lebo’s comeback, claims second straight championship | Class 1A Division II girls championship

Hanover's coach, Chris Beikmann, warned his team not to get complacent despite a strong start in the 1A Division II championship game against Lebo. Indeed, Lebo fought back to take the lead, but Hanover ultimately finished strong, securing their second consecutive state title with a 50-35 victory. Jueneman led with 24 points.

State Basketball Tournaments Tip-Off Wednesday & Thursday

FM 95.5 will cover Valley Heights, Hanover, Frankfort girls, and Axtell boys. Valley Heights girls face Wichita County, Axtell boys play Beloit St. John’s/Tipton. Hanover girls take on Bucklin, and Frankfort girls compete against St. John Hudson, with ongoing live coverage of the games on FM 95.5.
