Marshall County Commission Meeting Minutes – 3/10/2025

The Board of Marshall County Commissioners met in regular session with Jon Ungerer, chairman, Austin Cline, member, Greg Meyer, member and County Clerk Sandra K. Wilson present. Chris Pannbacker from the Marysville Advocate was present for the meeting.
Commissioner Ungerer called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. The meeting was opened with the flag salute.
Jon Ungerer moved, seconded by Greg Meyer to approve the minutes of the 03/03/25 meeting and the agenda for today’s meeting. Unanimous.

Public Works Administrator Mike Craig met with the Board.

Jon Ungerer moved, seconded by Austin Cline to approve the following purchase order. Unanimous.

    For labor, materials and install of lights
    $7,071.10-Landfill Fund-P.O. #109661

Public Works Administrator Mike Craig reported that the landfill just had the annual inspection – no violations were found.

Jon Ungerer moved, seconded by Greg Meyer to go into executive session per KSA 75-4319(b)(1) non-elected personnel – employee evaluations with the Board, Public Works administrator Mike Craig, County Clerk Sandy Wilson present to return to open session in the Board meeting room at 9:05 a.m. Unanimous.

No action taken as a result of this executive session.

Jon Ungerer moved, seconded by Greg Meyer to approve the Neighborhood Revitalization application for Nick & Mandy Rengstorf for the construction of new home at 1158 Lily Creek Dr., Marysville, KS. Unanimous.

Sheriff Tim Ackerman met with the Board. He informed the Board that he is having to replace all the radios and the cost will be approximately $58,900.

County Counselor Anthony Bruna met with the Board. Jon Ungerer moved, seconded by Greg Meyer to go into executive session per KSA 75-4319(b)(2) to discuss matters of attorney client privileged discussions – potential litigation with the Board, County Counselor Anthony Bruna and County Clerk Sandy Wilson present to return to open session in the Board meeting room at 9:55 a.m. Unanimous.

No action taken as a result of this executive session.

Dave Christian, Eric Irwin, John Grover and Toby Bruna met with the Board to discuss the 2D seismic testing on county roads by HyTerra. Lynn Stohs, landowner, Mike Craig, Marshall County Public Works Administrator and County Counselor Anthony Bruna were also present for the discussions. No decision was made at this time.

Helen Stucky-Weaver addressed the Board inquiring as to when the next tax sale will be held.

Jon Ungerer moved, seconded by Austin Cllne to approve the vouchers as presented and issue manual warrants. Unanimous.

Jon Ungerer moved, seconded by Austin Cline to approve payroll as presented. Unanimous.

Austin Cline moved, seconded by Greg Meyer to adjourn the meeting at 11:14 a.m. Unanimous. The next regularly scheduled meeting will be held on Monday, March 17, 2025 beginning at 8:30 a.m.
