The former conference rivals will meet on Monday, Oct. 26 in Grand Island, Neb.
MANHATTAN, Kan. – K-State will play an exhibition game against former Big 12 foe Nebraska on Monday, Oct. 26 at Eihusen Arena inside the BigIron Events Center in Grand Island, Neb., in a matchup presented by Pinnacle Bank.
Ticket information, tipoff and broadcast information will be announced later in the summer.
It will mark the first exhibition matchup between the two schools and the first-ever meeting in Grand Island, which is a 90-minute drive west on I-80 from Lincoln and a 3-hour, 30-minute drive north from Manhattan. Located on the Fonner Park campus in Grand Island, the 180,000-square-foot multipurpose facility is anchored by Eihusen Arena, which features 30,000 square feet of floor space, 6,000 permanent seats and capacity for an additional 1,500 guests on the arena floor.
Eihusen Arena welcomed a sold-out crowd of more than 5,000 fans for a LOVB Nebraska professional volleyball match earlier this year and hosts professional arena football, the Heartland Hoops Classic, the Nebraska Cheer & Dance Championship, the USA Wrestling Folkstyle State Tournament and numerous basketball, volleyball, wrestling and other regional competitions.
Although it won’t officially count in the record books, this will be the fifth meeting between the schools since 2021 with each splitting those four previous matchups, including an 86-85 win by the Huskers in the Hall of Fame Classic Championship game in Kansas City last season.
Nebraska is coming off a historic season in 2025-26, in which, the Huskers won 28 games and advanced to the Sweet 16 for the first time in program history. The squad is headlined by First Team All-Big Ten selection Pryce Sandford (18.1 ppg., 4.9 rpg.) and Big Ten Sixth Man of the Year Braden Frager (11.8 ppg., 3.8 rpg.). An eight-man recruiting class includes four Division I transfers including Sam Orme (12.7 ppg., 5.0 rpg.) who played for Alexander at Belmont in 2025-26.
Alexander welcomes 13 newcomers in his first season, including 10 from the transfer portal and three from the high school ranks. Sophomore Andrej Kostic (5.2 ppg., 1.7 rpg.) is the only returner.
The matchup with Nebraska is K-State’s second exhibition contest, as the Wildcats will host another former Big 12 foe Missouri on Friday, Oct. 23 at Bramlage Coliseum.
Season tickets for the 2026-27 season are currently on sale. Fans who had season tickets for the 2025-26 season have until Friday, July 31 to renew their tickets with season ticket prices remaining unchanged. Including the Missouri exhibition, the Wildcats will host 19 games at Bramlage Coliseum, including visits by NCAA Tournament participants Arizona, Houston, Kansas, TCU and Texas Tech.
The Big 12 portion of the 2026-27 men’s basketball schedule will be released when it becomes official. The Wildcats will host home games with national runner-up Arizona, Arizona State, Cincinnati, Colorado, Houston, Kansas, Oklahoma State, TCU and Texas Tech.
