Class 1A Division I Girls Quarterfinals: South Gray, Frankfort, Little River and Centralia all roll to lopsided wins

COLBY — Allie Reed poured in 27 points to help South Gray roll to a 58-29 win over Atwood-Rawlins County in Thursday’s Class 1A Division I quarterfinal at the Colby Event Center. 

Reed went 11 of 18 from the field and recorded nine rebounds with five steals for the Rebels (23-1). 

Vi Helm added 11 points for South Gray, which forced Rawlins County into 22 turnovers. 

South Gray connected on 23 of 55 shots from the floor while Rawlins County finished 11 of 36 and 1 of 12 from 3-point range. 

The Rebels will be making their fourth state semifinal appearance and are seeking their third state championship after winning in 2008 and 2010. 

South Gray will face Frankfort at 8 p.m. Friday.

Abby Micek led Rawlins County (19-5) with 10 points. 

FRANKFORT 51, ST. JOHN 34 — Frankfort forced St. John into 19 turnovers and held the Tigers to 12 of 40 from the field to advance. 

Hattie Gros and Alexis Dalinghaus each scored 12 points to lead a balanced attack for the Wildcats (21-3). 

Frankfort hit 16 of 39 attempts from the floor and was 6 of 15 from 3-point range while holding the Tigers to just one trey. 

Heidi Fisher (10 points) was the only double-digit scorer for St. John, which finished 22-2. 

Frankfort advanced to the semis for the fourth time in school history. With a win over South Gray, the Wildcats will make the state championship game for the first time since 1981. 

LITTLE RIVER 61, OLPE 44 — Little River continued its bid for a perfect season with the 17-point win over Olpe. 
Little River got big games from sophomore Arika Feldman (19 points) and senior Alaina Eck (18) as it moved to 24-0. 

Little River led 33-21 at halftime. Olpe chopped the lead down to six in the third quarter but couldn’t stay within striking distance down the stretch. 

Kadey Robert led Olpe with 19 points while Lilli Skalsky had 10. 
 Little River, reigning two-time champs in volleyball, will be making its 10th semifinal appearance in girls basketball. Its last state title came in 1998. 

CENTRALIA 52, NORWICH 30 — Oen Deters got Centralia off and running with 14 first-quarter points and the Panthers never looked back. 

Deters finished with a game-high 24 points, going 7 of 18 from the floor and 7 off 11 from the foul line. 

Freshman Tava Gibbs added 14 points for Centralia, which moved to 22-2 and earned a shot at undefeated Little River for Friday’s 4 p.m. semifinal. 

Norwich was led by Kierstin Adams’ 13 points. The Eagles finished 21-2. 

Centralia will be playing in the semifinals for the 15th time. The Panthers have five championships, the last coming in 2016.
