ABILENE, Kan. — A multi-year investigation into allegations of child sex crimes led to the arrest of a Republic County man this week, according to officials with the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office.
Alex Tyler Scrivner, 35, of Belleville, Kansas, was taken into custody on Tuesday following an investigation into incidents that reportedly occurred approximately five years ago.
Investigation Timeline
The case originated with the Abilene Police Department before being referred to the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office in January 2026. The allegations involve crimes that are believed to have taken place in 2021.
After several months of review, a Sheriff’s Office investigator gathered sufficient information to initiate a formal probe this week, leading directly to Scrivner’s apprehension.
Charges and Booking
Scrivner was transported to the Dickinson County Detention Facility, where he was booked on the following requested charges:
- Rape
- Aggravated Indecent Liberties with a Child
Authorities have not released further details regarding the victim or the specific circumstances of the case to protect the privacy of those involved.
Legal Status
As of Wednesday, Scrivner remains in custody. The case will be referred to the Dickinson County Attorney’s Office for formal filing of charges. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
