Dighton High School Boys and Clifton-Clyde Girls Reign Supreme at 2025 KEMFA State Powerlifting Meet

CLAFLIN, KS – April 12, 2025 – The 2025 Kansas Eight Man Football Association (KEMFA) State Powerlifting Meet, held at Central Plains High School in Claflin, Kansas, concluded with decisive victories for the Dighton High School boys’ team and the Clifton-Clyde girls’ team. The competition showcased the strength and dedication of young powerlifters from across the state.

The Dighton High School boys’ team demonstrated remarkable depth and talent, amassing a significant 179 points to secure the state championship title. Their consistent performance across all weight classes proved to be the key to their victory. Wichita County emerged as a strong second-place finisher with 151 points, followed by Wakefield High School in third with 97 points. Central Plains, hosting the event, finished a close fourth with 96 points, while Clifton-Clyde rounded out the top five with 60 points.

Other schools that made a strong showing in the boys’ team standings included Quinter High School (42), Spearville High School (41), Thunder Ridge High School (36), Greeley County High School (35), and Frankfort High School (33), highlighting the widespread participation and competitive spirit at the state level.

GIRLS

In the girls’ team competition, the Clifton-Clyde High School powerlifting team continued their impressive run, securing the state title with a commanding 133 points. Their athletes showcased exceptional strength in various weight divisions, contributing to their overall victory. Wichita County once again proved to be a formidable contender, finishing second with 116 points. Dighton High School also had a strong showing in the girls’ division, earning third place with 104 points.

Goessel High School’s girls’ team finished fourth with 94 points, followed by Little River High School in fifth with 70 points. Thunder Ridge High School (50), St Johns Beloit (38), Central Plains (32), Cunningham High School (26), and Lyndon High School (22) also demonstrated strong performances, rounding out the top ten in the girls’ team standings.
