Woman Killed in Train Accident in St. Marys

St. Marys, Kan. – A tragic accident occurred Friday evening in St. Marys, Kansas, when a woman was struck and killed by a train. The victim has been identified as 45-year-old Virginia Enockson, of St. Marys.

The incident happened shortly before 9:00 PM in the 100 block of North 1st Street, just north of U.S. 24 Highway. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Enockson was standing on the tracks facing south when she was struck by a westbound train. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other injuries were reported in the incident. The Kansas Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
