A Glasco man was seriously injured Saturday afternoon following a head-on collision on U.S. Highway 24 in Cloud County.
According to authorities, the crash occurred at approximately 3:37 p.m. on July 26, about five miles west of the U.S. Highway 24 and U.S. Highway 81 intersection.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported that a 2007 Chevrolet Aveo, driven by 70-year-old James Gingell of Glasco, was traveling eastbound on Highway 24 when the vehicle crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a westbound 2019 Chrysler 300.
Gingell sustained suspected serious injuries in the crash and was transported to Salina Regional Hospital for treatment.
The Chrysler was driven by 42-year-old Jessica Mendoza of Newton. Mendoza suffered a possible injury and complained of pain following the collision but declined medical transport. A passenger in the Chrysler, 44-year-old Tommy Twitchell of Norton, was not injured.
Investigators said all three occupants were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
