The Marshall County Arts Cooperative’s largest fundraiser, “In Full Color at the Replay Lounge,” is set to dazzle audiences Friday, January 31, and Saturday, February 1, at 7 p.m. at Venue 36, Marysville. Featuring a live band and an exciting array of music, this annual event showcases local talent.
While reserved seating is sold out, general admission tickets are still available for $25 for adults and $15 for those 18 and younger. Tickets can be purchased online at marshallcountyarts.org, by calling or texting 785-859-4260 or in person at 617 Broadway from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily.
The live band is made up of talented regional musicians. Band members are John Banister, trombone (Marysville); Tommy Brinegar, drums (Marysville); Beau Burkitt, rhythm guitar (Baileyville); Chris Felder, lead guitar (Axtell); Micah Kee, violin (Frankfort); and Todd Krause, bass (Seneca). Cindy Voet, Oketo, is the pianist and musical director.
Burkitt shared his excitement about being part of the group – “The most challenging aspect for me personally has been learning the material.”
Burkitt also spoke about his approach to working with fellow musicians, noting, “I try to blend my way into a mix. It’s been great finding the right level and balance with the other players.”
Krause emphasized the importance of preparation and collaboration in forming the band for this event. “Building trust and confidence within the group is essential,” he said. “This is a unique opportunity since I’m new to the group, and it’s been fun to get to know everyone and their experiences with playing music.”
The show’s setlist boasts a wide variety of songs, showcasing the versatility and skill of the musicians and vocalists. The songs span multiple decades including “Yellow Submarine” by the Beatles in 1966, “Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Ole Oak Tree” by Tony Orlando and Dawn in 1973, “Black Velvet” by Alannah Myles in 1989 and “Pink Pony Club” by Chappell Roan in 2020.
Krause highlighted the significance of live music at a community event like this. “Live music is the best music,” he said. “It brings a sense of togetherness and authenticity, showcasing the talented individuals in our corner of the world. Fundraising like this not only entertains, but also supports the future of the MCAC.”
Members of the musical ensemble are Brian Cook, Mandy Cook, Micah Kee, Ashley Kracht, Bryan Kracht, Joy Kramer, Kayn Milholland and Julie Popejoy.
Special guests include Emma Blumer, Miles Felder, Liam Felder, Brian Fragel, Todd Sandmann, Ashlee Shill and Matt Wassenberg.
As the arts cooperative’s largest fundraiser, the two-act musical revue ensures the continuation of arts programming and opportunities in Marshall County.
