NORTON, KS — Listeners tuning into KQNK-FM Q-106.7 for their daily dose of classic hits may have noticed a distinct shift in genre today.
The station announced that a technical failure within part of its broadcast chain has temporarily knocked its standard programming off the air. In order to avoid dead air, KQNK-FM is currently broadcasting a live simulcast of its sister station, Superstar Country 102.5 FM.
Station management confirmed that the engineering team has been notified and is working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
“We have contacted our engineer to get your favorite classic hits from the 70s, 80s, and 90s back on the air as soon as possible,” the station shared in a statement to its audience. “We apologize for the inconvenience.”
There is currently no exact timetable for when the repairs will be completed, but the station intends to return to its regular classic hits format the moment the broadcast chain is restored. In the meantime, local country music fans can enjoy a bonus frequency for their favorite tunes.
