SEDGWICK COUNTY, KS — A 74-year-old man from Maize died Sunday night following a multi-vehicle accident caused by a driver traveling the wrong way on Kansas 96.
The Collision
The Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) reported that just before 7 p.m. on January 11, Tim S. Martin was driving a 2000 Honda Accord eastbound in the westbound lanes of K-96, just east of West Street.
While traveling the wrong direction, Martin’s vehicle struck two oncoming cars:
- A 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Halie M. Weese, 25, of Hutchinson.

Following the initial impacts, a 2021 GMC Yukon driven by Dwayne C. Doyle, 39, of Wichita, T-boned the Honda Accord.
