Reckless Semi Driver Arrested After Blowing 7 Times Commercial Legal Limit

LYON COUNTY, KS — A dangerous situation on Interstate 35 was averted Sunday after Lyon County Deputies intercepted a reckless semi-truck driver operating a commercial vehicle while severely intoxicated.

The Incident

On January 11, law enforcement received reports of a semi-truck driving erratically along the interstate. Deputies successfully located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop based on the driver’s dangerous behavior.

The driver was arrested and transported to the Lyon County Detention Center for testing. The results of the breathalyzer were significantly higher than standard intoxication levels:

  • Commercial Limit: The driver tested at 7 times the legal limit for commercial operators (0.04).
