WILSON COUNTY – The Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) and the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office have arrested a man connected to a weekend homicide in Coyville, Kansas.

On March 8, at around 8 p.m., the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office contacted the KBI for assistance. KBI agents and the Crime Scene Response Team responded to the scene.

On Sunday, around 7:10 p.m., deputies from the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to 2105 2nd St. in Coyville, after gunfire was reported.

Upon arrival deputies located Lucas R. Pickell, 37, of Fredonia, just outside a fifth-wheel RV on the property. Pickell had suffered a gunshot wound and died at the scene.
