🎄 Christmas on Broadway to Light Up Marysville Nov. 29

Marysville will officially kick off the Christmas season with Christmas on Broadway Saturday, November 29, from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m.  The public is invited to enjoy the lights and music and take part in an evening of old-fashioned holiday fun.

The evening begins at 5:30 p.m. with the official lighting of Christmas Wonderland in Koester Park at South 9th and Elm Streets, right next to Santa’s house. Designed by Sonja Stoll, Christmas Wonderland transforms the park into a magical space with twinkling lights, Christmas-themed activities and games for children. After the lights come on, kids are encouraged to explore, play and enjoy the festive setting.

From 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m., the Marysville Volunteer Fire Department will host a chili fundraiser in Pony Park. Freewill donations will go toward the purchase of a new fire truck, giving the community a chance to support local firefighters.

Free horse-drawn carriage rides will run up and down Broadway throughout the event, provided by Champ and Company of Concordia, Kan. The rides will be offered on a parade wagon that comfortably seats eight adults and is pulled by a Belgian draft horse—a gentle workhorse breed known for its strength and calm temperament. Carriage rides will load at Pony Park.

At 6:15 p.m., the mayor will light the city’s Christmas tree in Pony Park. Immediately following the tree lighting, a Christmas fireworks display will brighten the sky.

Held the Saturday after Thanksgiving, Christmas on Broadway provides an opportunity for residents and visitors to gather in Marysville and mark the start of the holiday season.

The event is sponsored by OneMarysville and the City of Marysville. For more information, visit onemarysville.com or call 785-562-3101.
