WICHITA, KS – Law enforcement officials in Sedgwick County are asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect wanted in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred Monday night. Robert Schoenberger, 47, is considered armed and dangerous after allegedly shooting a victim who later died from their injuries.

According to the Wichita Police Department, the incident began as a “rolling disturbance” inside a vehicle occupied by Schoenberger and the victim. The victim, who was driving, stopped the car in the 500 block of N. Hillside, near Wesley Medical Center, and attempted to flee. Schoenberger, who was in the passenger seat, reportedly opened fire, striking the victim in the upper body. The hospital was also struck by gunfire.

The victim was taken into surgery but later succumbed to their injuries. Witnesses reported seeing Schoenberger flee the scene on foot with a firearm.
