NEMAHA COUNTY, KS – A woman sustained injuries Thursday afternoon when her vehicle collided with a metal object on US-36 highway in Nemaha County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported the crash occurred at approximately 2:50 p.m. on US-36, approximately 11 miles east of Seneca.
According to the patrol, a 2016 Lexus RX sport utility vehicle, traveling eastbound, struck a metal object that had reportedly detached from a westbound 2022 GMC Sierra pickup truck.
The driver of the Lexus, Constance M. Choquette, 66, of Upland, Louisiana, was transported to Sabetha Hospital with possible injuries. Authorities confirmed Choquette was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the incident.
The driver of the GMC, Jacob T. Renner, 43, of Belleville, Illinois, was reported to be uninjured.
Both drivers were the sole occupants of their respective vehicles, the patrol stated.
