Wichita police have arrested three suspects in connection with an armed home invasion robbery that occurred early Sunday morning.
Two victims reported that armed individuals entered their residence in the 1000 block of Ellis Street, brandishing shotguns and handguns. The suspects forced the victims into a bedroom at gunpoint and restrained them with zip ties.
The suspects stole electronic devices and three handguns from the victims, who were known to them. One victim, realizing their phone and car keys were missing, used the phone’s location tracking feature to pinpoint the stolen items to a residence in the 13600 block of West Nantucket.
Wichita Police responded to the Nantucket address, established a perimeter, and attempted to communicate with the occupants. When officers engaged with individuals inside the residence through a Ring doorbell camera, an occupant inadvertently activated the speaker, revealing a conversation that confirmed their awareness of law enforcement’s presence.
Despite attempts to negotiate, the individuals refused to exit the residence. This prompted the deployment of the SWAT Team and Crisis Negotiations Team.
While awaiting a search warrant, one suspect exited the residence and was taken into custody. A subsequent search of the home led to the discovery of two additional suspects hiding in the attic.
Three suspects, identified as Andrew Denning (33), Trinity Cook (19), and George Bos (62), are currently in custody facing charges of aggravated robbery. Denning also faces charges of criminal possession of a weapon by a felon, ID theft, theft of property, probation violation, and various drug-related offenses.
Two suspects remain at large and are actively being sought by law enforcement.
