SALINE COUNTY – On Dec. 2, the Saline County Sheriff’s Office identified the remains of Kenneth Reitcheck, 69, of Salina. The Salina Police Department reported Reitcheck missing on Nov. 4, 2019, and requested the Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) issue a statewide Silver Alert at that time.
On April 20, 2021, an abandoned campsite was discovered near Salina, along with human remains. After advanced DNA testing, investigators matched the remains to Reitcheck. Testing did not determine cause or manner of death.
This Silver Alert is canceled.
