K-13 between U.S. 24 and Tuttle Cove Road was closed in January and originally expected to reopen this spring; however, weather conditions have delayed progress. KDOT now anticipates reopening the area by the end of July, conditions permitting.
Marked detours will remain in place during the closure: motorists east of K-13 can utilize K-99 and K-16, and motorists west of K-13 can utilize U.S. 77 and K-16. Drivers can follow the signed detours or find appropriate alternative routes.
All project work and traffic changes are conditions permitting and subject to change.
KDOT urges motorists to stay alert and follow posted signs in all work zones. For current road conditions, visit KanDrive.gov or call 511. For updates on highway projects in northeast Kansas, visit ksdot.gov/NortheastNews.
