DONIPHAN COUNTY, KS – July 15, 2025 – A Manhattan man was killed Monday evening in a single-vehicle crash involving a semi-trailer on US-36 highway in Doniphan County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) reported the fatal accident occurred around 6:28 p.m., approximately half a mile east of Blackjack Road, and about two miles southwest of Highland.
According to KHP troopers, a 2007 Peterbilt semi-trailer veered off the north side of the highway. The truck then struck a culvert and a fence before continuing into a cornfield, where it came to a stop upright.
The driver was identified as 54-year-old Donnell Martin of Manhattan. Martin was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
The KHP is continuing its investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
