KANSAS CITY, MO – The highly anticipated wait for Kansas City Royals fans may soon be over, as reports indicate the team is set to call up top prospect Jac Caglianone. ESPN’s Jeff Passan reported the news, though the Royals have yet to make an official announcement.
Caglianone, selected sixth overall by the Royals in the 2024 MLB Draft, has been on a fast track through the team’s minor league system. The 22-year-old infielder/pitcher most recently spent a brief but impactful 12-game stint with the Triple-A Omaha Storm Chasers, where he showcased his power with six home runs and 13 RBI.
Prior to his promotion to Omaha, Caglianone played 38 games with the Double-A Northwest Arkansas Naturals. Across both levels this season, he has amassed an impressive 15 home runs and 56 RBI, demonstrating his offensive prowess.
The Royals are currently off on Monday before commencing a three-game series against the St. Louis Cardinals. With the team’s 40-man roster currently sitting at 39 players, a move to accommodate Caglianone would be straightforward.
Fans are eagerly awaiting an official confirmation from the Royals regarding the promotion of their touted prospect, who could soon make his highly anticipated Major League Baseball debut.
