NORMAN, OKLA. — The National Weather Service’s Storm Prediction Center has issued Tornado Watch 327 for a broad stretch of Kansas, remaining in effect until 11:00 PM CDT tonight.
The watch encompasses dozens of counties across the eastern and central parts of the state, placing major population centers on alert for severe weather. Affected areas include the Kansas City metro (Johnson, Wyandotte, and Leavenworth counties), Topeka (Shawnee County), Lawrence (Douglas County), Manhattan (Riley County), and Salina (Saline County).
Residents in the watch area are advised to stay weather-aware as conditions are favorable for the development of severe thunderstorms capable of producing tornadoes.

- A–C: Atchison, Brown, Chase, Clay, Cloud
- D–F: Dickinson, Doniphan, Douglas, Ellsworth, Franklin
- G–L: Geary, Jackson, Jefferson, Johnson, Leavenworth, Lincoln, Lyon
- M–P: Marion, Marshall, McPherson, Miami, Morris, Nemaha, Osage, Ottawa, Pottawatomie
- R–S: Republic, Rice, Riley, Saline, Shawnee
- W: Wabaunsee, Washington, Wyandotte
Safety Reminder: A Tornado Watch means that weather conditions are favorable for tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area. It does not mean that a tornado has been sighted. Residents should review their severe weather safety plans, keep their phones charged, and ensure they have multiple ways to receive emergency alerts. If a Tornado Warning is issued for your specific area, seek shelter immediately in a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building.
