Two Killed In Clay County Accident South Of Clay Center

A fatal accident occurred on Sunday, resulting in the deaths of two women: a 56-year-old from Clay Center and a 53-year-old from Salina.

At approximately 5:35 p.m., Deanna L. Hess, aged 56, was operating a 2013 Chevy Malibu while traveling south on K15 Highway. The Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) reported that she veered across the center line, colliding with a 2016 Chevy Impala driven by 53-year-old Lisa L. Stevenson.

Both Hess and Stevenson were pronounced dead at the scene, and their next of kin have been informed. Additionally, a 13-year-old girl, who was a passenger in Stevenson’s vehicle, was transported to a local hospital to receive treatment for serious injuries, as stated by the KHP.
