Fatal Crash Claims One Life in Allen County

A fatal accident occurred on Monday evening, November 18th, around 8 p.m. in Allen County, Kansas.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 54-year-old woman from Blue Mound, identified as Melany June Felt, was driving a 2006 Toyota pickup truck southbound on U.S. Highway 169, approximately five miles south of U.S. Highway 54. The vehicle crossed the center line and into northbound traffic, striking a 2014 Freightliner semi-truck driven by 53-year-old Christopher Lee Keathley of Parsons.

Melany June Felt succumbed to her injuries at the scene of the accident and was transported to Countryside Funeral Home. The semi-truck driver, Christopher Lee Keathley, was not harmed in the collision. Both drivers were reportedly wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.

The Kansas Highway Patrol is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding this fatal crash.
