Atchison Police Arrest Suspect in Car Theft

ATCHISON, KS – Local law enforcement has made an arrest in connection with a recent car theft.

On Saturday evening, November 16th, a 72-year-old Atchison resident reported the theft of her 2011 Ford Focus from the 400 block of Mound Street. The victim knew the individual who had stolen the vehicle, according to Police Chief Mike Wilson.

Shortly after 9:30 PM that same evening, the stolen vehicle was recovered by police. A 34-year-old suspect, identified as Mary C. McDonald of Atchison, was apprehended and taken into custody. McDonald is currently being held at the county jail on theft charges.
