Six Injured, One Dead in Thomas County Accident

A fatal accident occurred in Thomas County on Wednesday afternoon.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported that a 2014 Jeep Cherokee driven by Kimberly K. Munk, 49, of Oakley, was traveling northbound on U.S. 83 approximately two miles north of U.S. 40. The Jeep was attempting to turn left into a private driveway when it collided with a southbound 2011 Dodge Charger driven by Sara Wilson, 33, of Escanaba, Michigan.

EMS transported Wilson and her passengers, Susan L. Englert (68), Sharon Wilson (62), and Levi Wilson (2), to Citizens Medical Center. Englert was pronounced deceased. Munk and her two passengers, an 8-year-old boy and a 10-year-old girl, were transported to Logan County Hospital. The Kansas Highway Patrol confirmed that all seven individuals involved in the accident were properly restrained.
