Trevawn Strong Sr., 30, has been arrested and charged with multiple offenses following an abduction incident that prompted an Amber Alert in Wichita on Wednesday.
According to the Sedgwick County Jail records, Strong was booked early Thursday morning on charges including aggravated assault, aggravated child endangerment, child abuse, criminal threat, domestic battery, criminal discharge of a firearm, felon in possession of a firearm, aggravated battery, and criminal damage to property.
The Kansas Bureau of Investigation reported that Strong forcibly took his 5-year-old son from his mother’s home in the 2000 block of South Grove, utilizing a knife and firearm. Strong’s vehicle was later discovered in the 1900 block of South Woodlawn.
The KBI issued an Amber Alert, and the child was successfully located and returned to safety by the Wichita Police Department at approximately 8:45 PM. Strong was subsequently arrested in the 6400 block of East Farmview, near 17th and Woodlawn.
