An accident occurred in Trego County shortly after 9 p.m. on Monday, resulting in one individual sustaining injuries. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2014 Acura ILX, operated by 63-year-old Ralph Harding from Colorado, was attempting to merge onto Interstate 70 from the Collyer on-ramp when he executed an illegal U-turn, subsequently traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes.
The situation escalated when a 2016 Freightliner semi, driven by 34-year-old Dilshod Usmonov from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, collided head-on with the Acura. Emergency Medical Services transported Harding to the Gove County Medical Center for treatment, while Usmonov remained unharmed. The Kansas Highway Patrol confirmed that Harding was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the incident.
