An accident occurred in Gove County shortly after 4 p.m. on Sunday, resulting in one individual sustaining injuries. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2019 Harley Davidson Road King motorcycle, operated by 21-year-old Cade Austin Gourley from Hoxie, was traveling westbound on Interstate 70, approximately one mile east of Kansas Highway 212, in the left lane.
During the incident, an unidentified vehicle in front of Gourley ran over a tire tread, which he could not evade, leading to him losing control and laying the motorcycle down. Emergency Medical Services subsequently transported Gourley to Quinter Hospital for treatment. The Kansas Highway Patrol confirmed that he was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
