Kansas governor follows through on threat to veto bipartisan tax plan, will call special session
Gov. Laura Kelly vetoed a bipartisan tax plan, calling for a special session to reach a compromise. Republican leaders and House Democrats supported a two-tiered income tax, but the governor vetoed it. The proposals aim to reduce tax collections, exempt Social Security income, and eliminate sales tax on food. A special session is required for a new plan.

Grand Opening of Shady Bend Park in Osborne
The NCK Outdoors crew revamped the Shady Bend Trails and Park in Osborne, Kansas, adding 4 miles of sustainable hiking and biking trails, a new trailhead and staging area, picnic area, and nature interpretive trail. The project includes beginner to advanced trails and a river view, funded by a grant from the Osborne County Community Foundation. Opening scheduled for June 2 at 2-4 p.m.

Kansas Basketball Coaches Association Announces Roster For 2024 All-Star Games
The KBCA All-Star Games will be held at Mabee Arena on June 22nd, at Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina. The girls' game starts at 6:00, followed by the boys' game at 8:00. The full selections for the games are available below.
