Fatality Accident Reported Thursday In Rural Washington County

Douglas J. Toll, 78, of Clifton died in a vehicle crash on Thursday after his Chevrolet S10 pickup failed to stop at a stop sign while traveling on 5th Road in Washington County.

Toll was traveling east on 5th Road when his S10 collided with a Motor Grader traveling southbound on Bismark Road. Both vehicles came to rest in the middle of the intersection.

Jeremiah James Peters, 48, of Washington was driving the Motor Grader and was uninjured in the crash. The Kansas Highway Patrol reports that neither driver was wearing a seatbelt.
