Marshall County Commission Meeting Minutes – 12/18/17

The Board of Marshall County Commissioners met in regular adjourned session with Robert S. Connell, Chairman, Lynn Feldhausen and David E. Baier members and Sonya L. Stohs, County Clerk present.

The Board called the Board of County Commissioner meeting to order at 8:30 a.m.

The Board opened the meeting with the flag salute.

The minutes and agenda were approved as presented upon a motion by David E. Baier seconded by Lynn Feldhausen. Unanimous.

Register of Deeds Martha Roesch met with the Board to recommend the hiring of Samantha Crouse as the Register of Deeds Clerk at $15.02 an hour effective January 2, 2018 with the understanding she will be the Deputy Register of Deeds after probation. Robert S. Connell moved, seconded by David E. Baier to approve hiring of Samantha Crouse as the Register of Deeds Clerk at $15.02 an hour effective January 2, 2018 with the understanding she will be the Deputy Register of Deeds after probation. Unanimous.

Public Works Administrator Mike Craig and Public Works Coordinating Supervisor Larry Polson met with the Board.

Robert S. Connell moved, seconded by David E. Baier to approve the following purchase orders. Unanimous.

for replacing of axle bearings and seals
$2,174.25-Road & Bridge fund-P.O. # 108752

Nordhus Motor Co., Marysville, KS
for replace module, sensor, and fuel pump
$1,237.04-Road & Bridge fund-P.O. # 108753

Matheson Tri Gas, Inc., Dallas TX
for 2017 Miller 250 Bobcat welder
$5,073.37-Road & Bridge fund-P.O. # 108754

Public Works Administrator Mike Craig recommended making the 1987 Linkbelt 30-ton crane surplus. David E. Baier moved, seconded by Lynn Feldhausen to approve making the 1987 Linkbelt 30-ton crane surplus. Unanimous.

Robert S. Connell moved, seconded by Lynn Feldhausen to purchase a welder. Unanimous.

David E. Baier moved, seconded by Lynn Feldhausen to approve the following purchase orders. Unanimous.

Robert S. Connell moved, seconded by David E. Baier to approve the vouchers, as presented, and to issue manual warrants from the respective fund. Unanimous.

Sheriff Daniel A. Hargrave met with the Board to recommend the hiring of Timothy Anderson, Marysville as the Jail Administrator at $3,900.00 a month effective January 1, 2018. Robert S. Connell moved, seconded by David E. Baier to approve the hiring of Timothy Anderson, Marysville as the Jail Administrator at $3,900.00 a month effective January 1, 2018. Unanimous.

Robert S. Connell moved, seconded by David E. Baier to adjourn at 9:33 a.m. Unanimous. The next schedule meeting will be Wednesday, December 27, 2017 starting at 8:30 a.m.

The Courthouse and County Offices will be closed at noon on Friday, December 22, 2017 and will be closed on Monday, December 25, 2017 and Tuesday December 26, 2017 to observe the Holiday Season.
