LABETTE COUNTY, Kan. — A Parsons police officer has been arrested and fired after authorities alleged he secretly recorded a juvenile girl in a bathroom, according to the Labette County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a report at approximately 2:30 a.m. on July 25 involving an individual allegedly videotaping a female juvenile in a bathroom. During the investigation, authorities collected video evidence.
Investigators arrested 28-year-old Tyller White. On Sunday at approximately 5:30 p.m., White was booked into the Labette County Jail on requested charges of breach of privacy and official misconduct.
At the time of his arrest, White was employed as a police officer with the Parsons Police Department.
In a statement, the Parsons Police Department said it immediately launched an Internal Affairs investigation after learning of the allegations while fully cooperating with the criminal investigation being conducted by the Labette County Sheriff’s Office.
Police Lieutenant Jason Ludwig said the department conducted a comprehensive review of the available facts and evidence and concluded that White’s alleged conduct violated the standards of professionalism, integrity and ethical behavior expected of every member of the department.
As a result of that review, White’s employment with the Parsons Police Department has been terminated.
The criminal investigation remains ongoing. Authorities have not released additional details regarding the circumstances surrounding the alleged incident.
As with all criminal cases, the charges against White are allegations, and he is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
