GLEN ELDER, Kan. — KD Country 94 and Classic Rock Z-96.3 The Lake have been recognized with five honors in the 2026 Broadcast Excellence in Kansas Awards, the Kansas Association of Broadcasters (KAB) announced Monday.
The annual awards celebrate outstanding work by radio and television broadcasters across Kansas, recognizing excellence in programming, promotions, commercials and community service.
The stations, which compete in the Small Market Radio division for Kansas counties with populations under 25,000, received one second-place finish and four honorable mentions.
General Manager Lydia Housh and Production Manager Blake Housh submitted multiple entries for consideration, resulting in recognition across several categories.
The stations’ highest finish came in Small Market Radio – Public Affairs Programming, where “Campfire Chats” earned second place.

The Broadcast Excellence in Kansas Awards highlight creative and impactful broadcasting from stations throughout the state, with entries judged across multiple market sizes and programming categories.
Award recipients will be recognized during the Kansas Association of Broadcasters Awards Banquet on Oct. 19 in Wichita.
The five awards underscore the continued commitment of KD Country 94 and Classic Rock Z-96.3 The Lake to producing local programming, promotions and public affairs content that serves listeners across north-central Kansas.
