Helping Hands, Healing Hearts: BHS Student Council Kicks Off 17th Annual Charity Event

BELOIT, KS — The Beloit High School Student Council (StuCo) is turning game night into a mission of mercy this February as they launch their 2025-2026 flagship fundraiser. Now in its 17th year, the annual tradition returns with the theme “Helping Hands, Healing Hearts,” a community-wide effort to support local families battling cancer.

This year’s event will take center stage on Friday, February 20, 2026, during the Beloit home basketball game against Minneapolis. All proceeds from the campaign will be donated to the Mitchell County Breast Friends Foundation, a local organization dedicated to the mantra “No One Fights Alone” by providing financial and emotional support to residents undergoing cancer treatment.

Support the Cause: T-Shirts and Donations

To paint the stands in a show of solidarity, StuCo is inviting students, faculty, and community members to purchase official “Helping Hands, Healing Hearts” T-shirts. These shirts are intended to be worn during the February 20 game to create a unified visual support system for those affected by the disease.

For those who wish to contribute but do not need a T-shirt, direct donations are also being accepted.

A Legacy of Community Care

For nearly two decades, the BHS Student Council has used the excitement of the winter sports season to give back to Mitchell County. Student organizers emphasized that the longevity of the event is a testament to the generosity of the Beloit community.

“None of this is possible without the help and contribution of the school and community,” BHS StuCo stated in a release. “We truly appreciate the support shown to us over the years.”
