Southeast of Saline Dominates NCAA League Track Meet; Beloit Girls Shine

Beloit, KS – Beloit High School played host yesterday to the annual NCAA League Track & Field Meet, featuring both high school and junior high athletes. Southeast of Saline High School emerged as a powerhouse in the boys’ divisions, claiming both the Varsity and 7th Grade team titles. Meanwhile, Beloit High School’s girls’ teams showcased their strength, securing the top spot in both the Varsity and 8th Grade competitions.

The Boys Varsity competition saw Southeast of Saline High School soar to victory with an impressive 214 points. Beloit High School finished a distant second with 105 points, followed by Minneapolis High School (71), Republic County High School (66), and Lyons High School (57). Ellsworth High School (25) and Salina Sacred Heart High School (12) also competed.

In the Boys 7th Grade division, Southeast of Saline Junior High continued their school’s winning streak, racking up 151.5 points. Beloit Junior High secured second place with 118 points, while Republic County Middle School finished third with 69 points. Sacred Heart Junior High (64), Lyons Middle School (62), Minneapolis Junior High (51), and Ellsworth Jr High Bearcats (4.5) also participated.

The Boys 8th Grade competition offered a closer contest, with Ellsworth Jr High Bearcats edging out Southeast of Saline Junior High for the top spot, 95 to 92. Beloit Junior High finished third with 91 points, followed by Sacred Heart Junior High (77), Lyons Middle School (75), Republic County Middle School (70), and Minneapolis Junior High (58).

On the girls’ side, Beloit High School demonstrated their strength in the Varsity division, claiming the team title with 197 points. Southeast of Saline High School finished second with 117 points, while Ellsworth High School took third place with 78 points. Minneapolis High School and Salina Sacred Heart High School tied for fourth with 53 points, followed by Republic County High School (33) and Lyons High School (22).

The Girls 7th Grade competition was a tight race, with Republic County Middle School narrowly edging out Southeast of Saline Junior High, 149.5 to 147. Ellsworth Jr High Bearcats finished third with 61 points, followed by Lyons Middle School (60), Beloit Junior High (52.5), Minneapolis Junior High (37), and Sacred Heart Junior High (27).

Beloit Junior High’s 8th Grade girls dominated their division, amassing an impressive 212 points. Ellsworth Jr High Bearcats finished second with 98 points, while Southeast of Saline Junior High took third with 94 points. Minneapolis Junior High (45), Sacred Heart Junior High (41), Republic County Middle School (31), and Lyons Middle School (21) also competed.
