📰 Simpson House Explosion Injures Two, State Fire Marshal Investigates

SIMPSON, Kan. – Two adults sustained severe injuries following a house explosion in Simpson on Wednesday evening, prompting a response from emergency crews and the initiation of an investigation by the Kansas State Fire Marshal’s Office.

The Mitchell County Communication Center began receiving calls reporting a house explosion at approximately 6:23 p.m. on November 12th, 2025. The incident occurred at the intersection of Elkhorn Street and Wisconsin Street.

Emergency personnel quickly arrived on the scene and located two adult victims. Both individuals were suffering from severe injuries and were initially transported to the Mitchell County Hospital Health Systems Emergency Room. Due to the seriousness of their condition, the victims were subsequently flown to higher-level care hospitals for specialized treatment.

The Kansas State Fire Marshal’s Office was immediately contacted and dispatched investigators to the scene. The investigation into the cause of the explosion is active and ongoing. Authorities have not yet released any further information regarding the cause of the incident or the identities of the injured individuals.
