Beloit Man Arrested After Double Stabbing Leads to Attempted Murder Charges

BELOIT, Kan. — A local man is behind bars following a Friday evening stabbing that left two people hospitalized and prompted a swift response from law enforcement.

Tyler Lomax, 43, of Beloit, was taken into custody on June 19, 2026, shortly after officers responded to a report of two stabbing victims receiving emergency medical treatment.

According to a release from the Beloit Police Department, officers were called to the Mitchell County Hospital at approximately 8:00 p.m., where they discovered two individuals suffering from stab wounds. Investigators quickly determined that the incident had occurred at a residence within Beloit and identified Lomax as the primary suspect.

Lomax was located by authorities a short time later and arrested without incident. Police confirmed that a knife believed to be the weapon used in the attack was recovered and secured as evidence.

Lomax was booked into the Mitchell County Jail on several severe charges, including:

  • Attempted First-Degree Murder
  • Aggravated Battery
  • Mistreatment of a Dependent Adult

Both victims remain under medical care. Authorities have not released the details of their conditions or the extent of their injuries at this time.

Beloit Police Chief Chad Lackey praised the collaborative effort of local emergency responders in securing the suspect and managing the scene.

“Incidents involving crimes like this are always concerning for our community,” Chief Lackey said in a statement. “I am proud of the swift response by our officers, the Mitchell County Sheriff’s Office, and emergency personnel. This is still under investigation, and we are committed to accountability through the judicial process.”
