Captain Eilert’s journey with the Patrol began nearly two decades ago when he joined as a member of Cadet Class #48 on July 9, 2008. Upon graduating from the Kansas Highway Patrol Training Academy, his first duty station brought him to Riley County within Troop C.

Over the years, Eilert steadily climbed the ranks through dedicated service to the region:

  • 2013: Promoted to Master Trooper and transferred to Jewell County.
  • 2014: Transferred to Mitchell County, continuing his frontline service within Troop C.
  • 2021: Promoted to Field Lieutenant, a leadership role he held until his recent advancement to Captain.

Before dedicating his career to state law enforcement, Eilert served his country in the United States Navy as a Master-at-Arms from 2002 to 2007. A native of Beloit, Kansas, he is a graduate of St. John’s Catholic High School and holds a degree in criminal justice from Fort Hays State University.

The Kansas Highway Patrol extended its formal congratulations to Captain Eilert, expressing confidence and well wishes as he takes on the responsibilities of commanding Troop C.
