St. John’s Boys and Osborne Girls Claim Northern Plains League Track & Field Titles

Mankato, KS – The track at Rock Hills High School buzzed with excitement yesterday as student-athletes from across the region gathered for the annual Northern Plains League Track & Field Meet. After a full day of competition, St. John’s emerged victorious in the Boys Varsity division, while Osborne High School took home the top spot in the Girls Varsity standings.

In the Boys Varsity competition, St. John’s showcased their depth and talent across all 18 events, accumulating a final score of 124 points. Lincoln High School put up a strong fight, finishing second with 107 points. Host school Rock Hills rounded out the top three with 90 points. Sylvan-Lucas Unified (65), Tescott (57), and Pike Valley (43) also delivered solid performances. Thunder Ridge (30), Natoma (13), Tipton Catholic (11), and Lakeside (10) completed the boys’ team scores.

The Girls Varsity competition saw Osborne dominate the field, amassing an impressive 149 points across the 17 completed events. Rock Hills High School finished second with 72 points, followed by Lincoln in third place with 68 points. St. John’s girls team secured fourth place with 58 points, while Stockton finished fifth with 52 points. Sylvan-Lucas Unified (46), Tescott (30), Tipton Catholic (26), Pike Valley (18), Thunder Ridge (5), and Natoma (2) also contributed to the competitive atmosphere of the meet.

The Northern Plains League Track & Field Meet showcased the hard work and dedication of these young athletes, with numerous individual achievements throughout the day. Congratulations to St. John’s and Osborne on their team victories!
