Garden City Man Arrested on Multiple Felony Charges Following Weekend Incident

Garden City, KS – A Garden City man is in custody following a weekend incident in the north part of the city that involved a firearm and allegations of assault, robbery, and kidnapping.

According to a media release from law enforcement, officers responded to a call just before 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 5th, regarding a situation where a suspect with a firearm was reportedly refusing to allow a victim to leave a residence.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers made contact with Marc Guitron, 24, and the victim, who displayed visible injuries. Investigators determined that the two individuals had been involved in a physical altercation. During the incident, Guitron allegedly pointed a firearm at the victim before striking them in the face with it. Authorities also reported that Guitron took the victim’s phone and prevented them from leaving the residence.

Guitron was found to be in possession of the firearm at the time of his arrest. He was subsequently taken into custody and is currently being held in the Finney County Jail.

The requested charges against Marc Guitron include Aggravated Battery, Aggravated Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Kidnapping, Battery of a Law Enforcement Officer (LEO), and Interference with a Law Enforcement Officer (LEO).

The incident remains under investigation by law enforcement. No further details about the victim’s condition or the specifics of the altercation have been released at this time.
